Weather (Closings/Delays)
Revised January, 2009
As a general rule during inclement weather, St. Joan of Arc Catholic School will decide whether or not to close the school and inform local RADIO and TELEVISION stations. We will NOT follow any particular school district in making the decision.
SJA does NOT issue a two-hour delay, since we do not have bus service (so students are not waiting at bus stops). Most parents still have to get to work, and school delays may leave children at home alone or make it more difficult to get children to school later.
Students who are late to school will NOT be counted tardy during inclement weather. Please do your best to get to school on-time, but drive safely.
When watching for closings on TV, make sure to look for “St. Joan of Arc, Indianapolis” as there are several St. Joan schools in Indiana.
