St. Joan of Arc Athletics is a Parish organization promoting CYO athletics for all elementary students in the Parish and SJA School. Our goal is to provide all parish and school youth with positive experiences, developing athletic skills, within the CYO sports programs.
Last year, under Father Guy Roberts and Mary Pat Sharpe’s request, our Parish CYO Athletic Commission reorganized with two Athletic Directors (Boys and Girls) and Sport Coordinators. Our program is for all grade school Parishioners and Parish School students.
• We currently participate with St. Thomas and Immaculate Heart of Mary in Football and Soccer.
• We also wrestle with the Christ the King team.
• St. Joan of Arc has a strong Cross Country team coached by Parishioner Jeff Collier.
• Our Girls basketball team is under the leadership of Dr. Chuck Hasbrook and new Parishioner Shannon White.
• Parishioner Chris Montgomery has volunteered with St. Joan of Arc Athletics for twenty-eight years. He is our Boys Basketball Coordinator with coaches Ryan Mears, Mike Bartone, Lucian Anderson, Jeremy Anderson, and Leonard Taylor.
• Parishioner Brian Flynn has been our Cadet Volleyball coach for eight seasons. Parishioner Emily Waldron and Emily Schroeder coached our 56 teams and Helen Flynn coached our 4th grade girls.
• Lucian Anderson has guided our Track and Field program with more than 50 participants with a few St. Lawrence runners because they do not currently have a track program.
• Barry Pachciarz, Michele Countryman, Travis and Whitney Chapman have resurrected our Kickball team this Spring Season.
• Twenty school students participated in the CYO Chess Tournament in November at the CYO Center.
• Middle School- grades 6-8 participate in the CYO Science Fair every year with the SJOA School Science Program.
We invite all of our Parish members to learn more about our programs and join us in providing quality coaches and committee members to implement our mission and goals.
We encourage participation in the following sports. We are currently recruiting coaches, coordinators, a CYO Athletic Commission treasurer, Fundraising Coordinator, and volunteers for other committees
