St. Joan of Arc serves a diverse population of students of different faiths, race, and socio-economic backgrounds. St. Joan of Arc Catholic School is the one of the most diverse school communities in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and within the North Deanery Catholic Schools. St. Joan of Arc represents a microcosm of the world in which we live.
Does my child have to be Catholic to attend St. Joan of Arc Catholic School?
We welcome students of all faiths. Non-Catholic families who enroll their children in our school appreciate the Catholic faith, values, and prayer taught at the school. They value the atmosphere it provides for their children and are impressed in how it strengthens them spiritually.
Does St. Joan of Arc offer after school care?
Yes, for the 2022/2023 school year, we offer in-house after school care from 3:10 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, when school is in session.
Can I visit or volunteer in my child’s classroom?
We welcome and encourage parental involvement. If you wish to volunteer, please contact your child’s teacher for specific dates and times. When you arrive at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School to visit or volunteer, please sign in at the school office. We will issue you a visitor or volunteer badge and provide any special instructions. Your participation sets a wonderful example for our students. We appreciate your interest and involvement.
What is the dress code?
The identity of St. Joan of Arc children as students in a Catholic school is evident in the uniform. Although outward appearances are not a judge of character, taking care to groom and dress appropriately projects a sense of discipline, unity, pride and respect. Our uniform guidelines and dress guidelines are explained on our website. You can purchase jumpers and skirts at Reisse Brothers and generic polos and pants/shorts can be purchased at any retailer. Spiritwear can be purchased at the school (limited availability in the spiritwear case) or during online sales throughout the year.
What books or supplies does my child need?
We provide all textbooks to our students at no cost. All students are responsible for their own school supplies, and a supply list is available at the start of the school year.
Is there a fee to register?
The registration fee for K-8 students is $200 per student for parishioners and $300 for non-parishioners, not to exceed $500 per family.

What other fees are required in addition to tuition?
In addition to the registration fee, SJOA charges an Activity Fee dedicated for field trips and off-campus learning opportunities of $50/student.
What fundraisers are there?
Fundraising is necessary to bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of education. St. Joan of Arc’s school-wide major fundraisers include: Annual Fund, French Market, Trivia Night, Bingo Bash, and Walk-a-thon.
Do you provide financial aid?
St. Joan of Arc does not provide aid or scholarship programs. Our tuition remains at the lowest rate possible through fundraising efforts and the generosity of our parish; however, we do offer multi-child discounts. The State of Indiana offers the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program and the SGO scholarship program to help eligible Hoosier families choose and afford the most appropriate education for their child(ren).
What are the faculty credentials?
St. Joan of Arc teachers have certified Indiana teaching licenses, and many teachers have advanced degrees in the field of education.
Does St. Joan of Arc have a school nurse?
St. Joan of Arc has a health professional who is a certified nurse's aide and a qualified medication aide.
What if my child is absent or tardy?
If an absence is unavoidable, please call our school office as soon as possible. In order to provide a more orderly educational environment and safeguard instructional minutes, each student must arrive to school on time. Students who are tardy excessively frequently fall behind in academic achievement. Not only does tardiness jeopardize the individual's own learning, it interrupts the learning of others and the climate of the classroom.
