What we do:

• Encourage deep and meaningful relationships among our school families 

• Promote communication and collaboration between the school and families/community 

• Help parents identify ways to serve the school using their unique gifts, talents, and resources 

• Support and celebrate our teachers and administrative staff 

• Raise funds for the growth, betterment and long term success of the entire school community

How we do it:

• Mentor families new to SJOA

• Plan and host annual fundraisers like the French Market Children’s Area and Bingo Bash

• Support our teachers in the classroom as Room Parents, classroom readers, etc.

• Plan and host free family engagement events like the Sweetheart Dance

• Assist with ongoing fundraising efforts like Box Top collection, spirit wear and used uniform sales

• Beautify the school grounds and maintain the community garden

• Organize Teacher Appreciation events 

• And many other ways...

Joining the PTO is a great way to be actively involved in the school and your students’ lives, and to contribute to events that support and benefit your children. Parent membership in the PTO is free.
